This page explains what personal information is used when you visit this website, sign up for the newsletter or get in touch, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Oceanus Group Ltd, trading as Nadia Reed Investigates. We are the data controller for your personal information.
You can ask a privacy question or use any of your rights below by emailing nadia@nadiareedinvestigates.com.
2. What we collect
- When you sign up for the newsletter: your email address, the date and page you signed up on, that you ticked the consent box, and when you confirmed by clicking the link in our email.
- When you email us: your email address and what you write.
- When you visit: technical and security information such as IP address, browser and server logs.
Please do not send us other people’s personal information or private addresses.
3. Why we use it
- to send you the newsletter, if you asked for it;
- to answer your messages;
- to keep a record that you agreed to hear from us, and when; and
- to keep the website secure and working.
Our lawful bases are your consent (for the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time) and our legitimate interest in answering messages and running a secure website.
4. Who helps us
We share only what is needed with the providers that help us run the site and send email: our website hosting, Microsoft 365 (our own email), Postmark (which sends the newsletter) and the email-list system that keeps the newsletter list. We never sell your details.
Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we require an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and suitable safeguards.
5. Links to shops
Some links on this site go to shops such as Amazon, and we may earn a small commission if you buy something there, at no extra cost to you. When you follow one of those links, the shop’s own privacy policy applies to what you do there. We are not told who you are or what you buy.
6. How long we keep it
You stay on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us. After you unsubscribe, we keep a short record that you did, so we do not email you again. Messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them. Security logs are kept for a short, proportionate period and then deleted.
7. Cookies
The site uses only what it needs to work and stay secure. We do not use advertising or optional analytics cookies. If that ever changes, they will not be switched on until you have been given a clear choice.
8. Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to its use, or move it elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Please contact us first so we can put things right. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Changes
We will update this page when the site, its providers or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
